More than thirteen years after the tragedy, six days after April 10, I was a little worried whether Poles would flock to these postponed Easter celebrations. they came.
As every year, I stood in front of the Presidential Palace in a large crowd among Polish women and men of all ages and together we paid tribute to the memory of the late. President Lech Kaczyński and 95 other representatives of the state elite. I myself always try in my prayers to remember the loved ones who died over Smolensk, because they also paid and are paying a huge price for pain, loneliness and longing. As a result of the joint actions of the teams of Putin and Tusk, they too were not spared humiliation.
In retrospect, it is clear that the very events in Smolensk and what happened next, this shameful chain of deceit and meanness, were intended to break the spiritual spirit of Poland and Poland.
It would be the basic lie of the already ideal Third Republic of Poland, just as the Katyn lie shaped the People’s Republic of Poland. Not only would Polish patriots see their elite knocked out by a crime committed in broad daylight, in front of the whole world, but they would also have to experience monstrous humiliation and break the resistance. After all, from the beginning it was doused, many times directly the Soviet thesis was proclaimed: the victims themselves are to blame.
The same is true today of Russian propaganda about the valiantly defending Ukrainians. She kills there as cynically and ruthlessly as in Smolensk.
We would be in 2010 and then yes kicked into the groundso that those who seized power in the blink of an eye at the time would tear up safes for decades without encountering any resistance. And they could write more Berlin homages without any hindrance, make Poland dependent on Russia, collapse the army, promote society-destroying neo-communist ideologies. It would give them good life for a few years, then a terrible catastrophe would come, perhaps comparable to the partitions.
There are many indications that this was also the intention of the perpetrators and the conscious helpers of the perpetrators. A morally broken society is incapable of defending itself. And they were already preparing an attack on Ukraine, and then on Poland.
Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński today spoke on this thread in front of the Presidential Palace, who said that the Smolensk tragedy concerned the main issues – Polish solidarity, Polish sovereignty, as well as to the Polish system.
The dispute that is taking place in Poland is a dispute about the system: whether the system introduced after 1989, better than communism, but exploitative, exploiting people, robbing millions of Poles, a system in which children go hungry should continue (.. .) where there was poverty – will it be a system that will reject these practices, i.e. the one we have built consistently since 2015, and we have made such attempts before, because the first attempt was Jan Olszewski’s government

He ruled that Smolensk is part of the dispute that the late has already outlined. Prime Minister Jan Olszewski: “whose Poland is”.

Explanation to the end and – as far as possible – punishing those responsible for the Smolensk crime, as well as the Smolensk fraud, is one of the conditions for our final victory. The victories of this better Poland, an imperfect Poland, but a Poland that really strives for equal rights and where no one goes hungry, so that everyone can find a place for themselves

Despite the powerful propaganda drums of the camp of the Third Polish Republic, the difference can be seen with the naked eye. Despite the pandemic and the problems posed by the war, Poles are still not convinced that things were better – for them personally and for Poland – under Tusk.
The strength and resilience of today’s Poland has also grown from that blood.

This is not only a lesson from the past, it is also a warning for the future.
