Civic platform leader Donald Tusk called on everyone to join the march, which will start in Warsaw on June 4 at noon. “Against high prices, theft and lies, for free elections and a democratic, European Poland” – Donald Tusk announced his march. Are the politicians of the democratic opposition (except KO) will participate in this march? From the conversations of the wPolityce.pl portal with the politicians of PSL, Poland 2050 and the left, it appears that it will rather be only a march of the KO and its supporters, although there was a clearly different opinion among our interlocutors – Maciej Gdula , MP from the left.
“I’ve never heard of such a call.”
Polish MP 2050 Miroslaw Suchon in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal, he admits that he has not heard of Donald Tusk’s call so far, but he is still skeptical about his proposal.
I’ve never heard of such a call. However, I can say that every day, not on holidays, I rebel against the high prices and the arrogance of the authorities. Yesterday, for example, I marched to the meetings of the committees that considered arrogant ideas, proposing amendments that would rectify bad legislation. My personal march takes place every day
– says Miroslaw Suchoń.
“I’m so independent that Donald Tusk doesn’t call me
On the other hand Mark SawickiPSL deputy, deputy head of the Polish coalition club, openly admits that on June 4 he will have more interesting activities than participating in the march of Tusk.
Why should I go on this march? I’m so independent that Donald Tusk doesn’t call me. My father could have summoned me, but he’s been dead for 35 years. I have a boss, Kosiniak-Kamysz, so I still don’t understand why you ask me about Tusk – call Budka, Schetyna. I’m not going on this march. On June 4 I probably have some more interesting activities
says Sawicki.
“I will not be on this march”
Another PSL politician we talk to Wladyslaw Teofil Bartoszewskialso makes no secret of the fact that he should not be expected at the march of the head of the PO.
Such a date is not a coincidence, but I probably will not go to this march, even though I believe that June 4 is a very important date in our history, because communism has finally been overthrown. I will concentrate on parliamentary activities rather than marches. I won’t be at this march unless we organize something like PSL, then of course I will. Each party does its job. However, I don’t know yet what I’m going to do on June 4th. For now, we focus on issues related to the unrestricted importation of food from Ukraine. Yesterday we set up a team to investigate why the government did absolutely nothing to prevent it despite our warnings in July 2022
– say.
“I’m going to the May Day Parade soon”
On the other hand Anna Maria Zukowska from the left speaks of Donald Tusk’s march in a highly ambiguous manner. He announces that he will be there, but hopes that … he will see the head of the PO at the May Day parade and at the Equality Parade earlier. It is known that the probability of Donald Tusk appearing at these events is almost zero.
In the near future I will be attending the May Day Parade in defense of workers’ rights, and the Equality Parade in June. I hope to see Donald Tusk at these events. And I’m sure he would like to see me on his march too. So of course I do!
– emphasizes the MP from the Left. In the same tone as Anna Maria Żukowska – also recalling the march of May 1 – another member from the left speaks Marcin Kulasek.
Before June 4 is May 1. Then OPZZ, together with the Left, organizes a May 1 march against high prices, for workers’ rights, for wage increases and for a proper indexation of pensions. 200,000 people signed the widow’s pension for this civic project. Poland and Poland. For Poland in the European Union, because it was the left that introduced Poland into the European Union 19 years ago. We invite everyone close to these postulates and values to join the march. We count on maximum mobilization. June 4 is more than a month after May 1. Now we concentrate on our procession and its organization
– says Marcin Kulasek.
“I feel like going”
Maciej Gdula from the left appears to be our only interlocutor who responds enthusiastically to Donald Tusk’s idea and does not hide that he would like to participate in the march.
Editor, I feel like going. June 4 symbolizes all the forces that sat at the Round Table and wanted democratization in Poland. The round table also symbolizes consultation and cooperation, and the opposition should be associated with this, especially now that a joint list is less and less obvious. A diverse opposition that is not united on one list but marches together is a good idea
Gudula thinks.
As you can see, Donald Tusk cannot count on the massive turnout of delegates from formations other than KO at the march he is organizing.
