France’s constitutional council will make its final decision on the pension reform project on Friday, determining the victory or failure of one of the most important reforms of President Emmanuel Macron’s second term. It has been reported DEA News.

The publication states that the French Constitutional Council may fully approve this bill. In that case, Macron must promulgate the law within two weeks. In this case, it will enter into force on 1 September 2023.

Also, the law may be partially approved. However, the main measure of the draft law, Article 7, which envisages raising the retirement age from 62 to 64 by two years, will be preserved.

There is an option to reject the invoice altogether. The French Constitutional Council may also decide to hold a referendum on reform.

French President Emmanuel Macron’s previous assessment fell down Amid dissatisfaction with the bill to raise the retirement age, up to 28% of French citizens have a negative attitude towards the leader’s activities, with 72% of them.
