The All-Russian Research Institute of Civil Defense and Emergencies (VNII GOChS) warned the Russians of dangerous ice jams in rivers in six regions of the country. DEA News.

“The risk of dangerous ice compression is high, with the flooding of the lowlands in the Northern Dvina basins in the Republic of Khakassia, the Trans-Baikal Territory, the Amur rivers, the Sukhona and the Vologda Oblast,” the message says.

It is assumed that by the second decade of April, most of the Karelian rivers, as well as the Kostroma and Vologda regions, should be ice-free. Also, the ice should leave the Ob below the Kamen-on-Ob, Tobol, Tura, Tavda, Abakan and upper reaches of the Kan River.

There is also a risk of flooding of household plots in the Yaroslavl and Vladimir regions.
