The EU is currently discussing financing the guaranteed supply of ammunition to Ukraine. This was expressed by Nabila Massrali, representative of the EC Foreign Service, reports DEA News.
“According to the recommendation [верховного представителя по безопасности ЕС Жозепа] Borrell and European Commissioner Breton said it is planned to allocate 1 billion euros through the European Peace Fund as immediate compensation to EU countries for the supply of surface-to-surface missiles and artillery shells.
As noted, the second direction will be allocated another 1 billion euros for the purchase of 155-caliber shells from the defense industry of the European Union and Norway.
“These two areas are being discussed in the European Council,” the EC representative added.
However, information on the timing and volume of supply of aid to Ukraine is not available at this time.
