Gallego is the first name approved by Barcala PP for the 28M municipal candidacy, which is expected to be a bumpy renewal, although the number it will invade is not yet clear.

Another interesting thing about this announcement is that Gallego’s signature became known weeks after Socialist mayor Ana Barceló independently added Hercules’ living history Eduardo Rodríguez to his list.

Elda People’s Party’s mayoral candidate Francisco Sánchez announced the name of the person who will come in second place on his list. This is Felipe Martínez Martínez, the current president of the Royal Spanish Boxing Federation, which he has led since 2016.

Felipe Martínez has a degree in Criminology from the University of Alicante and is pursuing a master’s degree in High Performance Sports. Professionally, he is an off-duty policeman and is currently approaching his second term as president of the Royal Spanish Boxing Federation. “I had no plans to devote myself to politics, but seeing Paco Sánchez’s project was very encouraging. “I find working for this city very exciting and I think Elda deserves a change.”

Francisco Sánchez said: “It’s great for us to have someone with proven management capacity in the industry who works at a national institution and acts through international institutions.
