Kazakhstan declares not to interfere with Putin’s visit on the basis of an ICC order

Astana does not see any obstacles for the Russian leadership to organize visits on the basis of the International Criminal Court (ICC) issuing an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin, because Kazakhstan did not sign the Rome Statute of the ICC, therefore this document is valid for the country. “The Rome Statute does not apply to us, so … there is no call to action,” said Konuspaev.

He emphasized that Kazakhstan has no restrictions on travel, therefore, if an appropriate decision is taken by the leadership of the Russian Federation at the highest level to organize visits, “then, of course, we will continue to work.”

Hakob Arshakyan, formerly Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, plans To ensure that the ICC’s ratification of the Rome Statute does not harm the strategic relationship with Russia. On March 24, the Armenian Constitutional Court accepted the ICC’s obligations under the Rome Statute as constitutional.
