PO chairman Donald Tusk visited a Ruch Chorzów fan’s home, gave his children balls and posted a video of the visit on social media. However, when the same man asked the head of the PO a few days later at a meeting in Strzelce Opolskie, Donald Tusk took the floor. He also eventually deleted the video. “There is a lack of flexibility with Donald Tusk. The head of the PO uses certain schemes that he has been taught, but they do not teach him how to react to possible reactions from the public,” said Prof. Henryk Domański, a sociologist from the Polish Academy of Sciences.
It wasn’t good from a Donald Tusk image point of view when he said, “I’m taking your vote from you.” The statement itself was insulting, especially since he had been to the man’s house before. This can be perceived as completely incomprehensible. Therefore, the main accusation in this situation that can be made in such popular thought is that going to this man’s house was artificial and untrue, extremely public, and that Donald Tusk is not like that at all, and all he cares about gives regains power. However, all his gestures to the voters are feigned, artificial, untrue
says the sociologist. He compares the actions of the head of the PO with the behavior of PiS chairman Jarosław Kaczyński.
Here Tusk loses a lot compared to Jarosław Kaczyński. The PiS president doesn’t go to voters’ homes, but what he says in meetings with residents of certain cities is very authentic
– underlined.
Chances are that Donald Tusk will no longer agree to go home to an unknown man, because he will be afraid
– predicts Prof. Domanski.
“This can be called a lack of self-control.”
The sociologist answers the question whether he sees speaking to a Ruch Chorzów fan during a meeting with Donald Tusk as a fully conscious, rational action by the head of the PO, or rather as the result of a mistake and being guided through emotions.
It’s more of a bug, which is weird. He has shown time and time again that he is out of control. The accusation recently made against him that he is able to change attitudes on a given issue by 180 degrees is self-contradictory. This can be called a lack of self-control, that basically everything Donald Tusk does and says, even these gestures towards people, is a certain pattern of action that he learns by heart. For something like this, I give students two. If Donald Tusk had thought for two minutes, he wouldn’t have taken this man’s word. It’s completely pointless action – to go to someone’s house, you can still sit at their table and eat, then take their vote away
– points out the sociologist.
