The greatest evil is to divide society, because a divided nation may not be able to cope with the challenges – said the head of PO Donald Tusk in Strzelce Opolskie. He added that the condition for reconciliation is the settlement of the “party leaders”, those who “have done so much harm” and compensation for the victims of the PiS government.
Responding to questions from participants in Monday’s rally, Tusk said the main tasks facing the opposition today after winning the election are restoring the independence of the courts and prosecutors from political superiors, restoring the role of tribunals and restoring the role of prosecutors. media.
Today you all feel that more than a change of power needs to happen after the elections. We need to restore public media so that it becomes public media again. (…) The real problem with our constitution is not that there are bad provisions. It’s that someone decided to invalidate it, or they decided not to follow it, and the rest didn’t defend it enough
Tusk said.
He added that “the constitution, institutions, the rule of law must be defended” because “when people stop caring, every bandit, political hooligan will come and take it from us, when he finds that no one cares and no one cares. depends”.
Attempts by PiS to subdue the courts and liquidate independent media had one goal: that no one would have to look at their hands and hold them accountable for what they do. And if, despite numerous scandals, PiS wins the election again, their level of impunity will become unimaginable. They can rob us of everything
Tusk said.
The PO leader agreed with the view of the meeting participant, who acknowledged that the past eight years had been lost in terms of building civil society.
The greatest evil is the division of society. A divided nation may not be able to meet the challenges of the future
Tusk said.
He added that “PiS has turned the Polish-Polish war into a way of governing and that must be accounted for.” He stated that “it’s not enough to complain that they’ve turned the public media into a party toll”.
Organizing a lie in the public media with public money is a crime against democracy. And those who did it should also be punished for it. It is to settle accounts with those who have deprived the Poles of free media, but also of money, of hope, this settlement is not retaliation. (…) Harsh settlement of those who have done so much harm in Poland is a prerequisite for serious talk about reconciliation
Tusk said.
He stated that reconciliation is really his goal.
Such a deeply divided nation may not be able to cope with the tasks that we face in the context of the war, what is happening around Poland, we are facing really difficult challenges, difficult times (…) We cannot be as divided as we are today
– said the head of the PO.
Allegations against Jarosław Kaczyński and Zbigniew Ziobro
He added that the prelude to reconciliation, “not with Ziobro or Kaczyński, because they are responsible for what happened here,” will also be compensation for mistakes, “compensation for all those who lost because of PiS’s inept rule. ” In this context he spoke about different people and groups, but also about local governments.
A hard accountability of those responsible, and I am talking here and to the top of the party, a hard accountability of those who have caused so much harm and human suffering, compensation for this suffering to all those who have lost something through the evil rule of PiS and reconciliation between people who quarrel today, abandoned by this party that made this war a method of government
Tusk said.
He was also asked for an assessment of Staatsbosbeheer’s policy.
When they started to rule, they started destroying the stud farm in Janów. (…) It was so symbolic – national pride and great things were destroyed. And that was an introduction, not an incident. The tree does not scream. (…) They threatened Poland that PO wanted to privatize Polish forests. We now export record quantities of wood, including to China. Our companies pay record prices for Polish timber. They rob us of Polish forests and rob Polish entrepreneurs
Tusk said.
One of the meeting participants asked the head of the PO about the construction of the Strzelce Opolskie ring road and why the PO has not taken on this task, which PiS now wants to carry out. In response, Tusk sent it to the PiS authorities, who, he noted, had been in power for eight years and promised to build a hundred bypasses. According to the head of the PO, the investments made during his reign are difficult to compare with what the right-wing government has done for eight years.
What they built was usually the end of what we started. Two thousand kilometers of highways and highways were built under my rule. The largest investment in the history of Europe. Thanks to our investments, we now have a motorway network. Only in Germany is it bigger. I can thank you for bringing up the subject, which is PiS’ biggest embarrassment. Most of the time, Poland has been a leader in Europe when it comes to investments. Today it is in one of the last places when it comes to investments
Tusk said.
It’s really hard to be indifferent to Tusk, who makes himself a dove of peace. Has he forgotten what Poland looked like under his rule?
