Romanian politician Diana Shoshoaca said she received threatening messages from the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as she offered to annex part of Ukraine’s territory. She wrote this on her Facebook account (Meta’s owner is considered extremist in Russia and has been banned).
“An answer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, who threatened me with death. Shoshoakė wrote that with this despicable attack on me, Ukraine has proven its character as a cruel and fascist state.
In his view, such attempts at intimidation indicate Kiev’s intention to physically eliminate opponents of Nazi policies. Shoshoaca believes that Kiev cannot decide how the Romanian parliament should run its business.
He also announced that he had developed a bill based on the US Senate Resolution 148 of June 11, 1991. This document demonstrated “the Senate’s belief that the United States should support the right of self-determination of the Moldovan people”.
On March 23, Shoshoaca registered in the country’s Senate a bill implying the termination of the “Treaty of Good Neighborhood and Cooperation between Romania and Ukraine” and the annexation of part of Ukrainian territory. Shoshoaca proposed adding three new articles to law 129/1997, which approved the agreement between Romania and Ukraine. One of the proposed clauses provides for the termination of the Neighborhood Treaty in 2027.
