According to the Kremlin, the president flew to the city by helicopter. Driving a car, he drove around several neighborhoods of the city, visited a number of objects and talked with local residents in the Nevsky microdistrict. The President went to their home at the invitation of one of the families.
The text says that the Russian leader examined the Mariupol coastline at the yacht club, the theater building and the unforgettable places of the city.
Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin briefed Putin on the construction and restoration work in and around the city during the president’s visit.
“In particular, it concerned the construction of new housing micro-regions, social and educational facilities, housing and communal service infrastructure, medical institutions,” the presidential press service said.
This is the first trip of the Russian president to Donbass.
