Slovakian Acting Prime Minister Eduard Heger said that he had phone conversations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to him, during the meeting he informed the leader of Ukraine of Bratislava’s decision to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to Kiev.
“I called President Zelensky about the Slovak government’s decision to send 13 MiG-29s. “We support the brave people of Ukraine, they need tools to protect themselves,” Heger said on Twitter.
As the Slovak prime minister pointed out, the supply of protective weapons to Kiev is claimed to be necessary for peace-building. He also added that he accepted Zelensky’s invitation to visit Ukraine and will do so in the near future.
