“Using matters related to pedophilia to tarnish John Paul II’s image is an attempt to attack the current Polish state, based on the teaching authority of the Polish pope, said Spanish professor Jose Luis Orella Martinez, lecturer contemporary history at CEU San Pablo University in an interview with PAP Madrid.
“Destroying the memory of John Paul II would facilitate the creation of a pulverized society.
The director of the Department of History, Memory and Identity, specializing in the study of totalitarianism, pointed out that the teachings of John Paul II laid the foundations for the modern Polish state.
Poland, by defending moral sovereignty, is today a model for other countries, mainly relying on the Magisterium of St. John Paul II. The fall of the figure of this most famous Pole in the world would be conducive to the implementation of awake culture, especially the promotion of gender ideology, gender reassignment regulations or family polymorphism
he assessed.
According to a lecturer at the University of Madrid, destroying the memory of John Paul II would facilitate the creation of a pulverized society based on easily manipulated individuals; “people fixated on the concept of happiness based on pleasures and immaturity and lack of commitment.”
Civil society, on the other hand, is strong and operates within a democratic framework when it is based on a common network of families, where children are inspired by their parents and not owned by the state or a political project.
– believes the historian, noting that John Paul II supported this model of a community living in a state.
Methods typical of 20th century totalitarianism
The Spanish historian, political scientist, and political law specialist noted that totalitarianism in the 20th century, such as Nazism and Communism, willingly used allegations of abuse to undermine the Church’s image, including sexually.
Totalitarian movements, including communist ones, began their struggle against the Church by looking for all the weaknesses among its members: pedophilia, alcoholism, homosexuality, sexual relations with women, drug addiction and other weaknesses. Everything found was used, and the victims of their human weaknesses were forced to cooperate with the communist police forces
– added.
In Nazi Germany
Prof. Orella Martinez noted that undermining the image of the Church was also a specialty of Nazi Germany. He also recalled that in 1937 the head of the German military counterintelligence service, Wilhelm Canaris, ordered the Catholic lawyer Josef Muller to deliver a series of secret documents to Rome for Pope Pius XII about the campaign in which the Catholic Church was slandered by allegations of pedophilia. The entire operation was designed to warn the Church of brutal attacks prepared by the Nazis to undermine the morality of clergy.
He recalled that years later this pope also became a target of the KGB, which began its attack with the 1963 distribution of the play “The Viceroy” by the German playwright Rolf Hochhuth, which told a fictional story of alleged conspiracy with the Nazis. blaming the regime of the Church and Pius XII for the silence over the extermination of 6 million Jews.
The controversy led the Vatican to open its archives to prove that tens of thousands of Jews had been saved
– said the Spanish historian, noting that the truth about the fabrication of the allegations only came to light in 2007.
KGB methods
Romanian intelligence general Ion Mihai Pacepa, who escaped the Eastern Bloc during Communism, revealed years later that “The Viceroy” was part of a smear campaign ordered by Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev. This operation, codenamed Seat-12, was designed to tarnish the pope’s image and eliminate the Church’s influence in the world.
added Prof. Orella Martinez.
