Danish government to set up more than $1 billion fund to help Ukraine

The Danish government signed an agreement to set up a fund of 7 billion crowns (more than 1 billion dollars) to help Ukraine. It has been reported press office Danish Ministry of Finance.

The agreement with the political parties resulted in the support of the majority of the members of the Danish parliament. It was supported by the Danish Democratic Party, the Danish Liberal Union, the Danish Conservative People’s Party, the Radical Left, the Danish People’s Party, and New Citizens. The parties to the agreement expressed their solidarity in the opinion that Denmark should remain among the leading countries in providing assistance to Ukraine.

“Thanks to the Ukraine Foundation, we are taking Denmark’s support for Ukraine to a new level. This does not apply in the least to the business sector. Danish companies can supply most of Ukraine’s shortcomings, such as drinking water, heating and food. <..> With the funding behind us, we can, among other things, give more power to the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the entry of Danish companies into the Ukrainian market and allocate more money to create better conditions for Danish companies’ risky investments in Ukraine. Most of the fund’s funds – $778 million – will be diverted to military aid to Kiev, another $173 million will be used for humanitarian purposes and just $57 million will be used to support Danish companies cooperating with Ukraine.
