On Tuesday, the Warsaw-Praga District Court issued a verdict in the case of Justyna Wydrzyńska, an activist accused of helping to terminate her pregnancy by providing abortion pills. The court found her guilty of the alleged act and sentenced her to eight months’ freedom restriction, consisting of performing unpaid community service for 30 hours a month.
On Monday, the Warsaw-Praga District Court handed down a verdict in the case of Justyna Wydrzyńska, an activist of the Abortion Dream Team, who assisted in an abortion.
At the beginning of December 2021, the Warsaw-Praga District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw filed a complaint with the court in this case. The activist was accused of contributing to the termination of a pregnancy in February 2020 by donating at least 10 tablets of misoprostol (a substance that causes miscarriage). It carries a three-year prison sentence. The case was reported by the woman’s partner, who had previously refused to consent to an abortion abroad.
Justyna W. is accused of helping her on February 24, 2020 in Przasnysz, with the intention that someone else would terminate her pregnancy contrary to the provisions of the law, by giving advice via ICT links and providing medicines via the postman with an abortifacient effect, in the form of at least ten misoprostol tablets, which a medicinal product has placed on the market without a marketing authorization

The second act of the indictment concerned marketing or storage for the purpose of marketing a medicinal product without a marketing authorisation.

The activist’s trial began in April 2022.
On Tuesday, the Warsaw-Praga District Court handed down a verdict finding the activist guilty of the alleged act.

She added that the activist was acquitted of the second act.
The verdict is invalid.
