Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda addressed the European Parliament, calling for increased EU pressure on Russia amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. According to him, Brussels should also consider expanding the bloc in the name of “stability and prosperity” in Europe.

“We must increase the sanctions against Russia until we stop its aggression. The most effective way to expand the field of peace, stability and prosperity in Europe has been and will be the enlargement of the EU.
