The outcome of the upcoming election will be decided by those who are indecisive, dissatisfied and not seasoned voters. Poles do not like aggression and extremes. Therefore, in the end, those who doubt, a little discouraged by Law and Justice, will finally decide to throw a piece of paper with a vote for us – predicts PiS MEP and sociologist Prof. Zdzisław Krasnodębski in a Monday interview on Radio Wnet.
Who will win the elections?
Poranka Wnet’s guest, when asked about the possible outcome of the upcoming parliamentary elections in the context of the last, hot pre-election weekend, assessed that “they will be decided, not by those who are indecisive, who are discouraged, not by those hard voters, who we know are more or less divided in Polish society So where is the victory?
Among those people who once voted in favor of Law and Justice, who today express either distaste for politics or disappointment. However, when asked which party is closest, they still say Law and Justice
he answers.
If these people can be mobilized, persuaded to vote for Law and Justice again, then Law and Justice should win this election
– adds Prof. Krasnodębski.
Cheer it up PiS voters
When asked what to do to encourage indecisive PiS voters, the sociologist pointed to the ruling party’s efforts to invest in Poland’s defense in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine. He also pointed to the economy and the protective measures taken by the Polish government.
Today no one doubts that the state should be a social state, ensuring the basics of justice and redistributing national income. […] Neoliberalism is definitely over today. Therefore, as research shows, people are afraid that after the opposition comes to power, or even if it comes to power, all these social programs will be withdrawn.
– he judges, referring to the current reorientation of the opposition parties on the social course of Law and Justice.
There are no real debates today
however, Prof. Krasnodębski draws attention to voters’ fatigue with PiS rule, which is understandable after 8 years, and the important, but “unfulfilled promise to clean up Polish politics with a more substantive debate, which failed due to the nature of the opposition.”
Today there are no serious, cross-environmental debates in which arguments clash. This, of course, has to do with changes in civilization
he decides.
Difficulty following standards
The PiS MEP was also asked if PiS itself became intellectually weaker by adapting to the situation?
When it comes to acknowledging the situation, I think we are ahead of the opposition in this regard. I am simply saying that it is difficult to maintain certain standards when governments are hanging by a thread and that it is necessary to convince individual Members, who very often have their – let’s call it – personal interests at heart. It is also very difficult to enforce certain behaviors
– say.
Unstable parliamentary base of the PiS government
Prof. Krasnodębski also points to the “unstable parliamentary base of the PiS government
Various subgroups of MPs naturally have their ambitions, they want to survive. Therefore, there are phenomena on which we must be critical and talk about them critically. I also hope that after the elections, which we win, we will in principle return to a policy in which rules of decency are enforced more strictly than is possible in this situation
he assessed.
Tusk’s demagogy
Prof. Krasnodębski found the statements made last Friday by the leader of the citizens’ platform in Rokietnica, Wielkopolska, pure demagoguery. Tusk stated that the opposition would win the election, but – according to Tusk – the laws introduced indicate that “PiS may resort to imposing martial law to delay the election or prevent the implementation of the election results.”
The sociologist also acknowledged that the current PO makes promises, such as a 0 percent loan. for an apartment are empty promises.
If such a misfortune really happened and they won the elections, then after half a year our compatriots will understand that these are empty words and we will return to the situation in which they ruled before
he assessed.
For eight years, no serious politician they could trust emerged from the generally understood opposition. And such a politician – reliable, honest, ready to solve problems, seriously thinking about Poland – if he appeared in opposition, he would be very dangerous. But no. What Tusk proposes is a mixture of hatred, a few slogans and a desire to return to power. It scares people off. People were convinced that on the other side there is only aggression, vulgarity and emptiness.
Dispute and John Paul II
Another topic of conversation was the current campaign against John Paul II, which divides the political environment in a different way than before. In this context, Prof. Krasnodębski assesses the joint attitude of PSL with PiS as opportunism. He also pointed out that the discussion surrounding the figure of St. John Paul II could have a decisive influence on the election results in the fall.
I think the Poles realize that this election is about something more. These are actually two ways of thinking about us as a collective, about Poland, nation and values
– evaluates Prof. Krasnodębski.
Poles do not like aggression and extremes
Poles do not like aggression and extremes. […] They do not want an ethical revolution and the restoration of order in our world. Therefore, in the end those who doubt, a little discouraged by Law and Justice, will decide to throw a card with a vote for us
– concludes the PiS MEP.
