Sudan’s Ambassador to Moscow Mohammed Elghazali Eltijani Sirraja said Khartoum wants to return to direct flights to the Russian Federation. It has been reported DEA News.
“We had direct flights in Soviet times, while Aeroflot flew to Sudan and used the country’s airport as a hub to visit other countries. I hope this issue regarding direct flights between the Russian Federation and Sudan will be reviewed and direct flights will be opened.”
He emphasized that this would help people’s movement, trade and positively affect bilateral relations.
Earlier, Riad Alfatih, head of local mining company Al-Sulaj Mining, said Sudanese authorities were interrogating 36 Russians suspected of smuggling gold in 2023.
Former First Deputy Chairman of the International Relations Committee Dmitry Novikov declarationmeans the restoration of direct flights and the simplification of the visa regime.
He stated that despite the difficult period of relations between the Russian Federation and Georgia, he believed that “the higher the communication between Russia and different countries, the better”.
