Members of the US Congress appealed to the US State Department leadership with a request that employees of the surveillance departments be allowed to go to Kiev to control the distribution of US aid. “We ask that you allow employees of the offices of the inspectors general of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Agency for International Development to travel to Ukraine for a limited period of time to perform their surveillance duties,” the appeal said.
The text notes that while members of the inspectorate general’s offices have recently visited Ukraine, Poland and Germany, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has placed restrictions on such duties and prohibited other personnel from traveling to Ukraine for surveillance.
