We want to see the moment when the Poles will earn as much as the French, British or Germans. Our economy can be even more competitive – said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin during a meeting with the residents of Urzędów (Lubelskie Province).
“Poles will be able to get richer”
Our economy can be even more competitive, our products even more attractive, if there is cheap electricity and cheap energy. Poles will be able to get richer. They will soon be able to catch up with living standards in the largest countries of the European Union
– said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin during a meeting with residents and PiS supporters at the Cultural Center in Urzędów (Lubelskie Voivodeship).
The point is to prevent us from doing that, to prevent it from happening so quickly
– he explained, emphasizing that Poland’s rapid economic development does not arouse enthusiasm in the richest EU countries.
We want to see the moment when Poles earn as much as French or Germans. It is a shock there in the West, I have no doubt that we are developing so quickly. A few days ago, one of the members of the British Parliament, characterizing the crisis in Britain, although it is no longer the EU, said that English families are getting poorer. He said: +Soon the average English family will be poorer than the average Polish family
– added the Deputy Prime Minister during the Sunday meeting with the residents of Urzędów.

– Polish economic success central to the British debate. “From poverty to relative wealth in one generation”
He recalled that Lubelskie Voivodeship is still one of the poorest regions in Poland and the EU.
Poland is a country with large regional disparities. As PiS, we have set ourselves the goal of eliminating these inequalities, and since we have been in power, and it will be almost eight years, we especially try to support those regions of our country that need such support
– he said, adding that only of the three largest government programs – the State Fund for Local Investments, the Polish Order and the Fund for Local Government Roads – Lubelskie Voivodeship has received more than PLN 6.5 billion in recent years.
Then he specified that the Kraśnik poviat received PLN 317 million for investments, and Urzędów – PLN 25 million. The provincial government, which undertook the construction of a provincial road with a ring road through Urzędów, is also generously supported from the state budget.
PLN 65 million from the state budget was allocated only for this section, which is currently under construction, with the cost of the total investment of about PLN 67 million
he switched.
According to the deputy prime minister, the PiS government “guarantees the security of the Poles” in many dimensions: military, energy, social, health.
Speaking about the military dimension, he said that in the time of previous governments – PiS-PSL and the left – military units were liquidated, and the plans at the time stipulated that “all eastern Poland would be given to the aggressor practically without a fight. “
As a government responsible for the whole of Poland, we said: enough of those plans
– he said, adding that “we will not give up a single piece of Polish land.”
We strengthen the defenses especially in the east of Poland, we create new military units here, both in terms of WOT, but also new tactical units of fully regular troops
– he said.
Recalling the purchase of modern equipment for the armed forces, he said Poland will spend almost PLN 100-130 billion on the army this year, with PLN 650 billion of the entire budget. He added that defense spending in 2015 was PLN 37 billion.
Our ambition is for Poland to become a country with a very strong military position. We live in a part of the world where we can’t afford anything else
he said.
“We managed to get the coal on time”
Speaking about energy security, he recalled that oil, gas and coal from Russia no longer flow to Poland. He recalled that given the increases, the government decided to freeze gas prices for individual customers, schools, hospitals and kindergartens. Through state-owned companies, he explained, they imported coal to Poland from directions other than Russia, introduced a coal distribution system and coal subsidies.
The coal was delivered on time
– he said.
Today we need to provide Poland and the Polish economy with cheap, reliable electricity. And this is the only electricity that can be generated with nuclear energy
– he said, recalling the start of projects related to the construction of nuclear power plants in Pomerania and Wielkopolska, as well as plans to build a third. When the power plants start operating, he added, we will be able to say that we are completely safe in this regard.
If we want to continue these projects, we have to win the elections
– said Sasin, adding that PiS “needs more years of government to implement these projects.”
“There is more of this money and activity to come.”
Speaking about expenditures in the social field, he said that they have increased from PLN 32 to 86 billion in the years 2015-2023. As examples of “supporting Poland” he cited the 500 plus program, the 13th and 14th pensions, as well as the indexation of pensions and the introduction of a zero tax for the youngest working people.
We will not deviate from the path of supporting Polish society and supporting any group
– he said.
According to him, spending on health care increased from 77 PLN to 159 billion in the years 2015-2023. He gave examples of the PiS government’s activities in the healthcare sector, pointing out, among other things: increasing training opportunities for medical staff, investing in medical infrastructure and increasing the salaries of doctors and nurses.
There will be more money and activities. We must have time for this
– added.
The stakes of the upcoming elections
Referring to the upcoming parliamentary elections, he said they are extremely important for the future of the country.
We are dealing with a clash of two completely different views of Poland. The vision of what Poland should look like and what the late Mr. Prime Minister Jan Olszewski – whose Poland will be. Should Poland be Poland and for Poland, or should it just be toys in the hands of the greats here in Poland and on the international arena. Will the Poles be able to feel safe and cared for by their state, or will they again feel that the authorities are not interested in them?
– he gave.
Will Poles have the right to live normally, according to the rules they have lived for generations?
he asked, adding that the world is changing and “no one wants to block certain currents that are going on.”
But let each of us have the right to choose how we want to live. Whether he wants to eat meat or worms or dairy or whatever, travel or not, buy more clothes, can he wear the same clothes all year round?
he switched.
“We want Poland’s subjectivity in Europe”
According to the deputy prime minister, the elections will determine Poland’s place in Europe.
We want the subjectivity of Poland in Europe. We don’t want to be run from a big headquarters in Brussels or Berlin
– he said, adding that the election concerns whether “we want to be governed from Warsaw, by the marshal, the voivode of Lublin, the staroste”.
If our competitors rise to power, we will be governed from very different places. We’ll just be artists here
– he said, asking those present to mobilize, because “the stakes are very high”.
According to Sasin, “our government may not be perfect”, but political competitors “do not have a better offer for Poland”.
Self-government is absolutely within our reach
he said.
In response to a question from one of the meeting participants about the possibility of replacing coal with other energy sources, he said about the plan to start a “major gasification program” in the next term of office.
We will have to launch a government program that will make it possible to reach even the furthest corners of the country and replace coal with gas heating
he announced.
When a resident asked him about funds from KPO, he replied that “it’s not about courts, it’s about windmills”.
We know they don’t want to give us this money
he said.
