Contracts for the export of oil from Russia can be completely terminated if the European Union immediately introduces sanctions, as we requested, government spokesman Piotr Müller told Polsat NEWS on the program “Graffiti”.
President Kaczyński’s health
Among other things, the Ombudsman was asked for the health of PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński. Müller assured that the president would continue to tour Poland “within some time”.
I think those who think that Jarosław Kaczyński is giving up the election campaign are seriously mistaken. I’m glad some people miss a lot, because I think that’s right
he said.
The EU should have reacted sooner
The program also asked about oil contracts with Russia. The spokesperson stressed that they could have been broken sooner if “the European Union approved the sanctions right away, as we wanted”.
Contracts for the export of oil from Russia can be completely broken if the European Union immediately introduces sanctions, as we wanted
– said Piotr Muller.
If there are no sanctions, Poland is obliged to pay the contracts and we would receive no oil. We should pay. We would lose the court if we didn’t pay. We called for Russia to be immediately cut off from all supplies to Poland and the entire European Union, and the EU did not agree. The EU’s fault is that the decision to impose sanctions was not taken immediately, otherwise there is no legal basis for non-executing contracts
– he explained, adding that the PiS government was “reducing supplies of Russian oil and gas long, long before the war.”
