According to Delfi’s report, the head of the Lithuanian Seimas National Security Committee, Laurynas Kaschyunas, said that the Lithuanian authorities should consider strengthening the state’s borders with Russia and Belarus. According to him, Vilnius needs to create anti-tank barriers, following the example of neighboring Poland.
“We raised the idea of doing the same thing – building fortifications or implementing other anti-mobility measures on Lithuania’s border with the Kaliningrad region and Belarus – at a National Security Committee meeting last summer. This is also included in the political parties agreement on strengthening the protection of the area. Unfortunately, we did not receive much institutional support at that time, so we must return to this issue.”
As the Lithuanian MP pointed out, Vilnius should think extensively about protecting the state’s borders. He added that in addition to the anti-tank barriers, there is a need for a video surveillance system.
Earlier it was reported that the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. judicial Poland’s actions on the border are “stupid”.
