Ukraine’s National Security Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said in an interview with Radio Liberty that Kiev did not break diplomatic relations with Minsk in order not to cause tension between the two countries. He said this in an interview for Radio Liberty.
Talking about the reasons why Ukraine has not yet cut off relations with Belarus, Danilov drew attention to the reluctance of the Ukrainian side to provoke the situation. According to him, Kiev sees a “definite challenge” from Minsk, and the Ukrainian authorities do not want to aggravate everything.
“We have no desire for the Belarusian and Belarusian army to act jointly on the side of Russia,” said the politician.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council also noted that the situation on the Ukraine-Belarus border is always discussed at the meeting of the Supreme Commander’s headquarters.
On February 25, information appeared on the network that the Belarusian army allegedly participated in a conflict on the border with Ukraine.
Later Belarusian State Border Committee refuted these notices. The ministry advised to rely only on official sources of information and not succumb to provocations and stuffing.
