Dmitry Sakharuk, director of the Ukrainian energy conglomerate DTEK, said that new power cuts may occur in Ukraine in the near future due to the withdrawal of production capacities for repairs planned in preparation for next winter. This was reported on the Telegram channel of the energy holding.
“For the foreseeable future, stations for the winter period of 2023-2024 need to be prepared, blocks of nuclear power plants and other power plants will have to be repaired,” said Sakharuk.
He also added that the reason for the absence of power outages for the past two weeks is a combination of favorable conditions: electricity savings due to warming and increased hydroelectric power generation due to flooding.
