The European Union, within the framework of the 10th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, banned Russian citizens from holding managerial positions in strategic enterprises in the member states of the union. The relevant press release is published at: Web site Council of the European Union on 25 February.
It was noted that the relevant decision was taken on the grounds that “Russian influence in these bodies may threaten the normal functioning and ultimately pose a danger to the provision of essential services to European citizens.”
Citizens of the Russian Federation will no longer be able to hold senior positions in energy companies, in particular, in various transport companies, from gas, oil and electric power, as well as rail to transport.
As previously reported, the EU prohibited Passage of European dual-use goods and technologies through Russia.
