It’s easy to explain the antics of Donald Tusk, Tomasz Grodzki and Rafał Trzaskowski with “meetings” with President Joe Biden. For years they were convinced that in Poland they had a monopoly on worldliness, Europeanism, international salons, conversations with the most important politicians, posing for group and two-person photos. This monopoly was clearly not true, but then they ruled and controlled 90 percent of media, including the public one, such an image prevailed.
Images have a strong effect on emotions, and sometimes on the imagination, only momentarily. Those who have not been seen in recent weeks, even if they have fallen out of every refrigerator before, cease to exist in the iconosphere, and more widely in public circulation. There are only meme situations: when Donald Tusk puts on Jean-Calude Juncker’s jacket, when Bronisław Komorowski sits on a bench in the Japanese parliament or hides under an umbrella while his important guests get wet. Radosław Sikorski himself is a meme and Rafał Trzaskowski is almost equal to him.
For several years, especially since Donald Tusk is no longer a Brussels celebrity, when Sikorski is only frustrated that many treat him only as his wife’s husband, when Trzaskowski does not know where to go (abroad) to make him famous making everything is complicated. As early as March 2022, when President Joe Biden first visited Poland, frustrating Civic Platform celebrities felt bad as extras. And already in February 2023, during the second visit of the US president in 12 months, they wanted to be with him, if only for a few seconds.
It is easy to guess how frustrated PO celebrities attacked the US ambassador to Poland, Marek Brzeziński, to get them something. It is equally easy to guess how they tried to find some contacts through the American TVN bosses. After all, it cannot be that they do not exist, because then someone will think that they mean nothing. And many will probably think so. Hence the grotesque, and often comical announcements that will soon, soon (Friday with Pankracy will be playing).
The funniest were the “meeting begins” style announcements, as it might have ended before the announcer had finished writing his message. It sounded a bit like someone had to come from the street to the toilet in a building where a conference is taking place at the same time and announce it like this: “I’m going to an important event in a minute.” The frustrated celebrities couldn’t stand to just to be pawns. You can even make fun of yourself just to take a picture or announce a “meeting”.
Anyway, still several hundred photographers and probably the same number of regular smartphone owners have not revealed the documentation of Joe Biden’s “meeting” with Donald Tusk. Sławomir Nitras considered this “meeting” almost the most important during the whole visit, and there is a big gap here. It was so lacking that MP Kinga Gajewska had to fumble by inserting a photo from 2014, when Joe Biden was vice president and Donald Tusk was prime minister.
They so desperately wanted at least a photo and a handshake or an express chat so someone wouldn’t think they no longer exist or, worse, that they aren’t needed by anyone. These worldly people, Europeans, saloon people and wall people are simply superfluous and because of their absence there is no gap, no one is missing. Without them the world would not collapse. But he didn’t collapse and even the crippled dog didn’t notice.
It turns out that Poland can function perfectly, and even with more dignity and honor than ever, without Donald Tusk (not to mention Bronisław Komorowski), without Radosław Sikorski, without Rafał Trzaskowski. The case of Tomasz Grodzki is peculiar, because he has hypertrophy of the grandiose gland, which means that he always lacks the right context to demonstrate his mania grandiosa.
Even in Poland, because in the world it goes without saying, you can completely miss Tusk, Sikorski or Trzaskowski. And it even seems that they don’t really fit Joe Biden in the context of the war in Ukraine or the policy towards Russia. They don’t really fit in anywhere. After all, even Kinga Gajewska, who is a very good jumper, would struggle to name a single important issue for Poland that these gentlemen have settled. It would be easier for other states and administrators to list the cases they dealt with, but for Poland?
The more frustrated celebs wanted to show themselves with Joe Biden even for 5 seconds, the more they proved they weren’t needed by anyone – apart from the perpetual shaking (there’s no room here to explore the reasons) Sławomir Nitras or Kinga Gajewska and such groupies. They are superfluous, because you can’t see their absence, nothing happens. Nothing good happened under their rule, and at least now they can do no harm. They too cannot help, but this is not a discovery. The only proper place for this is a storage shed and not the one from the time of noble Poland, because valuables were stored there. It is about a modern lamus, or a junkyard. Photos have no miraculous power and they don’t come from the junkyard. It is high time to take notice and stop forcing yourself on Poland. Arrivederci senza rimpianti!
