“It is the role of the United States, among others, to ensure that this reflection reaches the capitals of these countries, be it Berlin, Budapest or Paris,” said Krzysztof Sobolewski, secretary general of PiS, on wPolsce.pl.

Krzysztof Sobolewski spoke about expectations regarding President Biden’s visit to Poland.

Expectations are high, the most important of which is the confirmation by the United States, the NATO powers, of Poland’s role in NATO, but also this continued support for Poland and for the countries of NATO’s eastern flank, led by of Poland in helping Ukraine

Maciej Wolny, the host of the program, recalled the words of Jarosław Kaczyński, which the PiS president said in an interview for the last issue of the weekly “Sieci”.

I really hope it will provide as concrete statements as possible about further involvement of the US and other countries in helping the struggling Ukraine

Words from Macron and Orban

Krzysztof Sobolewski also referred to the words of Emmanuel Macron, who concluded that, contrary to the opinion of some observers, he did not believe that Russia should be “completely defeated”.

I believe there is still much to do. The United States, Great Britain, Poland and several other countries have become involved in helping Ukraine, aware of the situation beyond our eastern border and its possible consequences. This complete reflection has not yet taken place in other countries. It is, among other things, the role of the United States to ensure that this reflection reaches the capitals of these countries, Berlin, Budapest and Paris. This visit can be such a signal for these countries. In Germany they realize that the center of gravity of NATO has been moved by the Americans from Berlin to Warsaw

said Sobolewski.

Then Sobolewski was asked whether Poland is the United States’ biggest ally today.

A new opening has taken place. Unexpected only for Germany and France, this new opening means the tightening of relations between Poland and the United States. It was thanks to Poland’s actions that we had arguments to reopen these relations in another dimension. It is due to the actions of the Polish government, the Polish President, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and how the Poles behaved in the first days, weeks and months of the war in Ukraine.
