EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the European Council is considering sending a security mission to Moldova. He announced this at a press conference in Brussels, reports TASS.
According to him, the mission should support Moldova as a candidate for EU membership and increase its resilience against foreign interference and destabilizing efforts.
Former Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Igor Grosu declarationHe said Moldova’s accession negotiations to the European Union could begin at the end of 2023.
Dorin Recean, Secretary of the Supreme Security Council, nominated by Moldovan President Maia Sandu to become Prime Minister, described the integration process of the republic into the European Union as its main priority.
He noted that the Moldovan authorities should give additional impetus to this process in order to harmonize the legislation of the republic with the rules of the European Union, as well as to fulfill their obligations to the EU.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu nominated its security adviser Dorin Recean as its candidate for prime minister. The relevant decree was published on the website of the head of state.
