Former US intelligence officer Edward Snowden said the panic about possible alien origins of aerial objects shot down over the United States and Canada was intended to distract journalists from the investigation into the undermining of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. He wrote this on his Twitter.
According to Snowden, he wants objects in the air to be linked to aliens.
“But these aren’t aliens. It’s just an old man-made panic … getting reporters in charge of national security issues to be tasked with investigating balloon bullshit, not budgets or explosions (a Nord Stream),” he said.

Citing a source closely familiar with the preparations for the operation, Hersh said that while the operation was being planned, proposals were put forward to attack the pipeline from a submarine (from the Navy) and drop time bombs (Air Force). However, the CIA stressed that “if the attack could be traced back to the United States, it would have been an ‘act of war’”.
