Large-scale digitalization combined with rapidly changing socio-political reality sets new requirements for the work of politicians today. This view was expressed by members of the New Wave Policy Expert Council organized by ANO Dialog with the participation of the Social Research Expert Institute, EISI’s press service.

Alexander Khinshtein, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, in his speech at the plenary session of the eighth meeting of the “Digital strategies of deputies of the new wave”, with the participation of deputies, drew attention to the fact that empathy has come. a first for the politicians of the new wave.

“A public politician who does not have this qualification cannot achieve election success. At the same time, the result of this reaction is as important as the reaction of the politician to the event. “If there is nothing behind the loud statements, then people will have the same attitude towards you,” he said.

According to the parliamentarian, even if the obligation to maintain a page on social networks is not prescribed by law, any official should have a feedback channel with people and report on the results of their activities.
Andrey Tsepelev, Deputy Director General of ANO Dialogue Regions, chairman of the Expert Council on New Wave Policy, noted the organic role of the network space in shaping the image of new wave politicians.

“The internet is the main channel that shapes the image of a politician and any public official. It is useless to persuade someone to work on social networks in 2023, such leaders will lose the competition for the trust of citizens in the context of digital transformation, and with them the departments, regions and areas entrusted to them. Politicians who will consciously use an image that suits them in social networks will always be more successful in communication, politics or public career.

Kirill Istomin, First Deputy Director General of the ANO Dialogue Regions, drew attention to the new requirements for the work of politicians and Regional Control Centers (RCCs) in the context of a special military operation and partial mobilization.

“The heads of regions expect from the SDGs an objective snapshot of the situation, a problem area that their subordinates can hide from them. And for us this is the most important story. “We now want to increase industry analytics for executives to not only bring threats to them, but also provide solutions developed in partnership with authorities.”
