“I spoke to the soldiers who are on their way to Germany for Leopard 2 training and I must say I saw how serious their eyes are, how serious their faces are. Their faces said more than words. 70 percent of those I spoke to came straight from the front to Germany. They will be trained with us and then they will return to the front. They were determined and their faces showed that they would not let go,” German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said at a press conference organized after meetings with the head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera, and the head of the Ministry of National Safety. Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak.

The German minister said that next week there will be another meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Mariusz Błaszczak.
People in Ukraine are not only teaching Russia, but also the whole world when it comes to determination and courage. I must say that I view Ukraine’s performance with humility and great respect. (…) We’re talking about March shipments of Leopard 1A5s from industrial sources. In addition, Germany, together with the Netherlands and Denmark, has taken a decision that will increase Ukraine’s capabilities. (…) We have agreed with my colleague Mariusz BÅ‚aszczak that we will have a joint meeting next week within the coalition that will supply the Leopards. (…) We still have some leeway when it comes to leopards. The countries that have leopards will unite. It is important that we use all the resources we have not yet used to support Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression.
he stressed.
Pistorius pointed out that he had been defense minister for only three weeks and that he had just made his first trip to Poland.
It’s not a coincidence, it’s a conscious choice. I would like to emphasize the importance I attach to relations with Poland. I am aware of our responsibility. We have a Polish-German community of common interests
he said at the conference.
