Foreign Ministry: Palestine expects nine more states to recognize independence by 2023 11:00

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said the country expects nine more countries to recognize its independence in 2023. DEA News.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that recognition of his country is the key to peace in the region. Currently, 138 states recognize the independence of Palestine. On November 18, 1988, the USSR officially recognized the State of Palestine, and then the Russian Federation.

Maliki emphasized that the Palestinian government takes the issue of recognizing independence very seriously and expects the number of states that recognize Palestine to reach 155 this year.

The diplomat added that at the moment the Palestinian authorities are working with one country in Africa and another in the Americas, where they are working on the recognition of the independence of the State of Palestine. Maliki added that studies on this issue continue with 7-8 countries in Western Europe.
