Strana writes that a petition has appeared on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s website seeking the dismissal of the country’s Defense Minister, Oleksiy Reznikov. According to the publication, the authors of the initiative demanded his resignation amid a corruption scandal.
“The release of Defense Minister Reznikov as an official far from understanding what the military and its defense capacity are, the failure to restore order in the Ministry of Defense and attempts to cover up unprecedented embezzlement. The budget of the Ministry disclosed by journalists,” the text says.
As noted, the authors of the petition called for Reznikov’s immediate dismissal. At the same time, Strana points out that the criticism of the minister began after a series of Ukrainian media reports that the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense was buying food for the army at prices 2-3 times higher than the market prices.
