Minister Michał Dworczyk, who was a guest on wPolsce.pl today, stated that Radosław Sikorski’s words, suggesting Poland’s willingness to split Ukraine, affect all Poles and are dangerous for Polish international interests. At the same time, Minister Dworczyk emphasized the importance of the success of the Polish government, which managed to convince the German side to agree to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine.

The claim that Poland had some doubts, or that it was undecided, did not provide support in the first few days, is a lie. Mr Sikorski is seen by many Ukrainian politicians as a minister who urged the surrender of the democratic opposition during the Orange Revolution. He didn’t want to annoy the satrap and convince the satrap that it would end badly. This is how he is remembered today. I cannot judge whether his last words were cynicism, ignorance or blindness with hatred towards PiS. His statement does not affect the government, but the image of Poland. Therefore, Sikorski’s statement was used in Russia’s main media outlets. Putin’s spokesman and the Russian Foreign Ministry pointed this out. This shows how this statement fits into Russian propaganda
– said Michał Dworczyk in an interview with the television station wPolsce.pl.
I am surprised by the statements that cross the border of Polish national interest. I would like to believe that this is due to a lack of knowledge. On the other hand, if politicians of this stature do not have such knowledge (Sikorski was the head of Polish diplomacy – ed.), then out of a certain caution he should not speak on this issue

Leopards to Ukraine
Minister Michał Dworczyk also referred to Germany’s decision to supply Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and agreed that it was also a success of the Polish government.
I am glad that Ukraine is getting weapons that will allow it to level the playing field against the aggressor. Let’s not forget that Ukraine is still defending itself. You should also be aware that these tanks, which are used in Ukraine, will also defend Poland. I am also pleased that the pressure from the Polish Prime Minister and President, and from the entire government, has had an effect. Let me remind you that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the President of Lithuania went to Berlin two days before the outbreak of war to convince the Chancellor to introduce sanctions against Russia. Today these sanctions are self-evident, but then it was not so certain. The Germans did not want to cut Russia off from the banking system. This first package of sanctions was launched shortly after the Polish Prime Minister’s visit
said Michal Dworczyk.
A few days ago, at a meeting in Lviv, the president and the government proposed creating a “Legion of Freedom”, an armored unit that would help Ukraine armed with modern equipment. Mr. President stated that if other countries join, Poland will hand over a company of leopards. At first, many laughed at the idea that the Germans would disagree. Today we know that we succeeded. It is important that another barrier, namely the failure to supply heavy weapons to Ukraine, has been broken
he stressed.
The myth about the inefficiency of Polish diplomacy has been debunked. Poland has often shown in these months that it can effectively campaign for Ukraine. We are achieving international goals thanks to the determination of the government and President Andrzej Duda
– said Michał Dworczyk on TV wPolsce.pl.
