The possible transfer of the Leopards without Germany’s permission is a conflict of licensing issues with international law; I don’t think the Germans want to go to court with this,” said Radosław Fogiel (PiS). He also ruled that the German concept of guaranteeing security in Europe has gone completely bankrupt.

Radosław Fogiel, head of parliament’s foreign affairs committee, was asked on TVP1 on Monday about the attitude of German authorities regarding the transfer to Ukraine of Leopard 2 tanks, manufactured by Germany and used by many European countries, including Poland.
The transfer of such tanks to Ukraine, which is defending itself against Russia, is postulated, among others, by Poland, however, it needs permission from the German authorities in order to transfer them. Chancellor Olaf Scholz has so far not given that permission, while German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock of the Greens stated that Germany would not stand in the way of the transfer of the Leopards to Ukraine.
The question is to what extent Minister Baerbock’s words reflect the opinion of the entire German government. This is a coalition partner that is acting much more courageously on the Ukrainian issue
noted Fogel. As he appreciated, new German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) is not an “anti-Russian hawk”.
When the German foreign minister was in Ukraine a few days ago, her counterpart said he knew the problem was not in her office. So I tend to believe she is sincere. Apparently Chancellor Scholz (SPD) has a different opinion and that needs to be worked on
– added the PiS MP.
Legal conflict?
Fogiel stressed that a possible decision to transfer the Leopards to Ukraine without Germany’s consent would be a conflict between “issues of licensing and international law, law enforcement and the principle of the inviolability of borders”.
I don’t think the Germans want to take this to court. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is right: Ukraine wins Germany or not. At this point, Germany has an opportunity to choose the right side of history, the question is whether they will take advantage of it. Their concept of guaranteeing order and security in Europe is already completely bankrupt
he stressed.

Babish’s shocking words
The head of the parliamentary SZ committee was also questioned about the statement of former prime minister and current Czech presidential candidate Andrej Babisz, who said during the pre-election debate on Sunday that he would not send Czech soldiers to help Poland or the Baltic states in the event of an attack on them.
I would say these are shocking words were it not for Andrej Babisz, who is quite a controversial populist politician. (…) Our cooperation is mainly with Prime Minister Petr Fiala. Among other things, it is good because he comes from the same political family (as the Polish government – PAP), European Conservatives and Reformists
– emphasized the PiS politician.
Babisz’s opponent in the upcoming second round of the presidential election in the Czech Republic is General Petr Pavel – the head of NATO’s Executive Committee in 2015-2018, formerly Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Army, among others. Support for him was expressed by Prime Minister Fiala, among others; Pavel has a clear lead over Babisz in the polls.
