“Presenting the PO today as a defender of failing companies is precisely dressing in completely different feathers, counting on a short social memory. For people who remember the PO-PSL government at least a little, it is completely unbelievable. However, the fact that the PO resorts to such incredible messages shows a certain desperation,” said Janusz Śniadek, PiS MP, former chairman of “Solidarity”, in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal.

— How many companies were under Tusk? The Prime Minister shows the data and writes: Pandemic and war are not as effective in killing businesses as PO governments
wPolityce.pl: President of PO Donald Tusk recently met in Racibórz with the staff of the energy company Rafako, which has a dispute with the state-owned Tauron. He blamed the government for the situation. In turn, PO MPs from the Wałbrzych region sent a letter to the Prime Minister about the liquidation of the Porcelana Krzysztof factory in Wałbrzych. How do you assess the fact that PO politicians now present themselves as defenders of Polish companies?
Janusz Sniadek: These are the shocks of an individual who has his back completely against the wall and has no idea what to do. The PO is the heir to the great privatization program of Balcerowicz, the philosophy of Lewandowski and most recently Grabowski. People who profess such an economic philosophy today present themselves as defenders of Polish companies … Let me remind you that PiS has carried out a major repolonization campaign of many companies and banks. All anti-crisis programs, huge government support to companies, were possible thanks to closing the VAT gap. Tens of billions of zlotys recovered were earmarked for huge social transfers, invested in the Polish economy. Presenting the PO today as a defender of failing companies is precisely dressing in completely different feathers, counting on a short social memory. For people who remember the PO-PSL government at least a little, it is completely unbelievable. However, that the PO resorts to such implausible reports shows a certain desperation.
When companies go bankrupt, real human suffering is caused. Employees of these companies can then blame the current government for their situation. I suspect that the message from the PO corresponds to this phenomenon. The question is, in your opinion, if the PO were in power, would gas and electricity prices be lower than they are now?
I have no doubt that Prime Minister Tusk, unable to find a button to reduce inflation, would again not lift a finger and simply point out the objective factors of the difficult situation. Since he has no program proposals, he only focuses on accusations and attacks against the rulers. This also testifies to the total impotence of the program and the helplessness of the PO in the face of reality. It is normal for people who are in a difficult situation, when they lose their jobs, to blame those who are in power at the moment. It always has been and always will be, but PiS responds to such situations with great utilities. Unfortunately, they don’t cover everyone and they can’t prevent all nasty situations. In a sense, it can be said that this is our weak point, which the PO is trying to hit.
You mentioned people known for supporting the privatization of state-owned enterprises, including current PO MEP Janusz Lewandowski. The social change survey has been published on the wPolityce.pl portal, which shows that 52 percent of Poles believe that the state treasury should have ownership control in enterprises strategic for Poland. Only 3 percent decided that foreign private capital should have it. How would you react to such results?
Just a few years ago, these results were not so favorable to supporters of a particular protective role of the state. The philosophy of the state as a night watchman seemed to predominate, and that is how universities were trained. In this situation, these results are very satisfactory. This means that PiS’s policy of building security, based on the taking of responsibility by the state for the functioning of strategic sectors, has convinced the Poles. It is expected that the state will not be a “cairn”, as Mr. Sienkiewicz vividly described it. Capital has nationality. In any case, the European Union is trying to subdue all rebellious states through financial pressure. It is a difficult situation and it takes enormous economic power of the state to oppose it.
However, the government does not hide that it needs money from the KPO and the blackmail of the European Commission in this regard seems effective.
He really needs them. This is very dangerous, this financial blackmail can be effective. It is all the more necessary to build up the economic strength of your countries to resist it.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki presented a graph on social media showing that more companies went bankrupt during the PO-PSL government than during the PiS government.
This is exactly the translation of the situation into facts, figures. It is worth emphasizing that when it comes to economic and substantive competencies of Prime Minister Morawiecki, he is several grades above Donald Tusk. The PO leader was a civil servant all his life and never worked in real business or economics. All the more, his cleverness and pretending to be an expert on economics is hardly believable.
