The situation with the Ukrainian grain supply to Europe is undermining the food security of the European Union. This was stated by Polish deputies, reports “Lenta.ru”.

“Up to a third of Ukraine’s grain enters the EU market instead of third countries that need it,” Adam Jarubas, Yaroslav Kalinovsky and Krzysztof Hetman, MEPs of the European People’s Party in the European Parliament, said in a statement.

They underline that Ukrainian grain is increasingly misused around the world, which “undermines the viability of European agriculture, which is fundamental to the food security of both the EU and the countries we export to.”

Lawmakers are asking the European Commission to clarify whether the illegal use of grain imported into the EU from Ukraine as technical grain is being monitored.

Former President Tayyip Erdogan knowledgeableThe “grain corridor” made it possible to export more than 16 million tons of agricultural products from the territory of Ukraine. According to the Turkish leader, Ukraine, as a result of exports of agricultural products from Europe accepted about 44% of the grain, Turkey – 16% and African countries – 14%.
