Yesterday, information appeared on the Internet, PO MP Urszula Augustyn invites her to Wieliczka next Monday for a meeting with her three party friends, MPs Izabela Leszczyna, Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz and Marzena Okła-Drewnowicz. It can be said that this is nothing new, meetings of parliamentarians of all political parties present in the Sejm with voters are held throughout the country, moreover, parliamentary elections are increasingly being held in the fall of this year.
OP still no program
However, this invitation is surprising, because the meeting should be a “brainstorming”, where the above-mentioned MPs should agree with the participants “3 particulars, without which they cannot imagine changes in Poland after the PiS rule”. This new meeting formula was called the “new project of the Platform”, which probably means that there will be more meetings of this kind and that other deputies from this party will also be involved.
In this situation, the assurances of the party’s leading politicians and its chairman, Donald Tusk himself, that the Platform’s program has been prepared, only the details are determined. Sometimes politicians of this party, exposing themselves to derisive comments, explained that they were not revealing their program just because the ruling United Right could take over and implement some of their program proposals, and they could not allow it. Quite recently, on one of the private televisions, MP Izabela Leszczyna explained exactly how the program should not be made public, moreover, she said that detailed program solutions would be presented after the PO won the election, to which many Internet users responded, “then vote we also on the PO after the elections.
Voters need to figure out what the PO should do
According to the content of this invitation for meetings with PO politicians, its politicians are only now willing to discuss the content of their election program with potential voters. Seven years in the opposition turned out to be too short to draw up such a program and discuss it with their voters, only now do the voters have to think about what the PO should do in the event of an election victory. Until now, in numerous election rallies, the leading politicians of this party have been satisfied with the slogan “remove PiS from power”, in all cases modified, sometimes even “added” with the need to remove by force, for example, from the occupied buildings , the President of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński, or the President of the Constitutional Court, Julia Przyłębska. So often the PO’s election manifesto is presented by the chairman, Donald Tusk himself, and he reinforces his message to voters with statements that he is furious, as well as grimaces on his face and clenched fists.
PO game around the war in Ukraine
The platform also used the war in Ukraine, the rise in the prices of energy resources, the increased inflation, problems with the coal supply, after the embargo on coal from Russia was introduced, to fight the government without any inhibitions, but as evidenced by , these things are not going the way they want. The government and society have effectively helped Ukraine, for which Poland is grateful, not only Ukrainians but the whole civilized world are grateful, the rise in prices of energy resources has been brought under control, although it will cost about PLN 100 billion in 2022- 2023, inflation fell in half in the last months of the previous year, coal is available at lower prices than in the previous heating season, fuel prices, despite the increase in VAT rates from the new year, have also not increased.
In this situation, the idea of ”brainstorming” with voters “how should it be” arose after the possible victory of the PO. However, the aforementioned “brainstorming” is not necessary, the question “how to do it?”, has been answered long ago, because at a rally organized by KOD in December 2015, the well-known director Agnieszka Holland, who called out to the demonstrators in front of the Sejm , “my dear, we are fighting to keep it as it was.” So please don’t bother people with brainstorming, prominent supporters of the Platform long ago defined what they expect, for them it is best to “keep it as it is” and they demand the implementation of such a program.
