Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said that the Ukrainian authorities, who rejected the Christmas truce, are ready to sacrifice their own people and country for the geopolitical games of the West. He wrote this on his Twitter.

“This is another reminder that in Ukraine we are fighting ruthless nationalist criminals with no respect for shrines, ready to sacrifice their country and people for the sake of the West’s geopolitical games,” the diplomat said.

Former Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed Russian Federation Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu will declare a ceasefire along the entire line of contact from 12:00 on January 6 to 24:00 on January 7.

The Kremlin also urged the Ukrainian side to declare a ceasefire and give citizens the opportunity to attend Christmas services, as “many citizens of Orthodoxy live in conflict zones”.
