A court in France has ordered the bail release of Ukrainian oligarch Konstantin Zhevago. This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Strana.ua version.
“Ukrainian oligarch Konstantin Zhevago, who was detained in France at the request of Ukraine, was released on bail of 1 million euros by the decision of the French court,” the statement said.
It was noted that the next meeting on the return of the oligarch will be held on January 19.
Konstantin Zhevago, billionaire and former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, who has been on the wanted list since 2019, was detained in Courchevel, France. Kyiv sent petitions for the oligarch’s detention in 38 different countries. At the time of his arrest, he himself tried to challenge the legality of the actions of the French authorities, but without success.
