In the annual accounts for 2021, we had to show zero turnover because our party was not yet able to function; We received the entry in the party register in March 2022 – said the deputy head of Poland 2050 Michał Kobosko on Thursday.

The politician also reiterated that next week Szymon Hołownia’s party would file a complaint with the Supreme Court against the National Electoral Commission’s decision to reject the Poland 2050 report for 2021.
At a Thursday press conference in Warsaw, Kobosko pointed out that the party he represents emerged from the socio-political movement and is part of it. He stressed that Szymon Hołownia’s Poland 2050 party got a valid entry in the register of political parties after – as he said – a long wait in March 2022, and only then could it “be completely legal”, because only then it was possible for a bank account.
And according to the Political Parties Act, a party can only really function if it has a bank account. Since this happened in 2022, it is clear and natural to us that when we file our 2021 financial statements, we had to report zero revenue. There’s no other way. Our party simply could not function yet in 2021
Koboski said.
He also stressed that in 2022, when most of the party was already functioning, it would not accept money from public funds.
We received no subsidy. Of course we will account for every zloty we received in 2022, but as I said, we did not receive any subsidy
he wrote down.
Attack on PiS
As he added, “for comparison, in 2022, PiS received more than PLN 23 million from taxpayers’ pockets from the budget subsidy per year.”
PiS furiously attacks us because PiS is afraid of us, (…) they already see what we see, that we are a real, serious political force
Kobosko also said.
As he stated, Poland 2050 “cannot be intimidated” and early next week, in accordance with the deadline set by law, he will file a complaint with the Supreme Court against the PKW’s decision to open the 2021 annual accounts.
We strongly disagree with the opinions, not with the material, let’s call it evidence, because the PKW did not provide it to us, but with the opinions included in the decision, which is why the PKW has not adopted our report for 2021
Kobosko said.
Katarzyna Karpa-Świderek, spokeswoman for the formation, also spoke at the conference and said that the Poland 2050 socio-political movement has three pillars: a political party, a “Strategy 2050” think tank and an association Poland 2050.
Historically, “Strategies” and the association were founded first – it was 2020. (…) They came into being and functioned thanks to the generosity of Poland, thanks to the donations of hundreds of thousands of people. It was not until 2022 that Poland 2050 of Szymona Hołownia, i.e. a political party, was formally registered
she stressed.
Late last year, “Rzeczpospolita” reported that the PKW had rejected the Polish 2050 report for 2021.
The thing is that Poland 2050, although it was registered in March 2021, has submitted a report showing that it has practically not worked for the whole year. She put +0+ in each of the boxes and said, among other things: about funds deposited, donations and accepted non-monetary values
“Rz” wrote.
Poland 2050 leader Szymon Hołownia explained that the “zero” financial report submitted by his party for the previous year was a result of the group only recently being legally registered; never had a bank account before. He indicated that his party’s registration lasted for one year: from March 2021 to March 2022, with the final entry in the register taking place two months later.
At the beginning of the week, PiS Secretary General Krzysztof Sobolewski announced that applications had been submitted to the Ministry of Development and Technology and the PKW for public information on the report on the funding sources of Szymon Hołownia’s Polska 2050 party, as well as reports on the activities of the Polska Od Nowa Foundation.
In response, Hołownia said it was pleased with “PiS’s concerns about the transparency of the financing of political activities”, but these are the last people to teach anyone anything. He assured that his group operated transparently and had not broken the law.
