Israel says they can “do nothing” with Bandera’s cult in Ukraine

Diplomats in Israel admit that they cannot do anything about the cult in Ukraine of Stepan Bandera, the leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (the organization is banned in Russia). The newspaper writes about it haaretz.

The author of the article, Sam Sokol, noted that Israeli authorities have repeatedly made statements to Ukraine about this man’s cult, but calls “Do not rehabilitate and glorify the enemies of the Jews” have not been heard.

When Kyiv celebrated Bandera’s birthday a year ago, the Israeli embassy said it strongly condemned “any glorification of the Nazi regime and collaborators” and that Ukraine must come to terms with its past.
