British authorities will recognize the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of the Iranian Armed Forces) as a terrorist organization in the coming weeks. It has been reported Daily Telegram with reference to sources.

If the IRGC is listed as a terrorist organisation, it would be a crime in the UK to belong to it, participate in its activities, wear its symbols and support its activities.

The publication notes that the recognition of the IRGC as a terrorist organization was supported by Interior Minister Suella Braverman, who is considered the main author of the initiative, and her deputy, Tom Tugendhat.

formerly the United States introduced Sanctions Iranian Prosecutor General Mohmammad Jafar Montazeri for suppressing protests.

Montazeri is “charged” with instructing the judges to act decisively and harshly against the protesters. In addition, senior representatives of the pro-government Basij militia, Muslim Moein and Hossein Maroufi, and the commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) forces in Tehran and Kurdistan, Hassan Hassanzade and Seyed Sade Hosseini, were also sanctioned.
