According to a Telegram channel close to the press service of the President of Belarus, the unofficial CIS summit has ended. “The Pool of the First”.

According to the channel, the meeting between the politicians lasted more than seven hours.

Former Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) leaders started A traditional informal summit in St. Petersburg.

The leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan attended the meeting. Before the start, Russian President Vladimir Putin greeted all the guests and then a joint photo ceremony was held.

Earlier, Putin congratulated the leaders and peoples of the CIS countries on the upcoming New Year. He also wished them and the citizens of the Commonwealth states health, happiness, well-being and prosperity.

The head of state also spoke about the growth of security threats, difficulties and conflicts in the CIS area, and also emphasized the readiness of the states of the organization to cooperate in resolving them.
