The Ipsos survey after the holidays for OKO.press and TOK FM yields interesting results. A whopping 63 percent of those polled do not want the head of the PO to return to the position of head of government after the election may have been won by the opposition. Only 34 percent would like to see Donald Tusk in this position. examined.
It should come as no surprise to anyone that 92% of PiS voters would not want Donald Tusk as head of government nor the fact that 81% of KO voters would want PO leader as prime minister and it is interesting that a whopping 58% of voters in Poland in 2050 don’t want that. currently, the strategy of the Hołownia party to cut itself off from the joint list with Donald Tusk is correct.
As for the electorate of the left, 43 percent of them would not want Prime Minister Tusk, so also in the case of the New Left, the strategy of moving away from the joint list (and not moving away from possible later co-government) is understandable. It is also worth noting that even for nearly 20% of Civic Coalition voters, Donald Tusk is not an obvious candidate for the post of head of government, meaning that even every fifth Civic Coalition voter does not fully support Donald Tusk. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska claimed that young Poles do not remember the rule of Donald Tusk, but a study published today shows that this memory is quite vivid, even if it does not involve young people.
The result of this poll should calm the PO leader’s hot head, who confidently reiterates that he knows how to beat PiS. Tusk still has a large negative electorate in Poland. In 2019, Donald Tusk seemed to know about it, but lately he seems to have forgotten.
This election can be won, and I would be a liability
– said Donald Tusk, who announced that he would not be a candidate in the presidential election.
And indeed, at the time, polls showed an extremely strongly negative electorate of the PO leader. Three years later, the situation hasn’t changed much, but Donald Tusk has become just a caricature of himself from years ago. While it used to be said about wolf eyes, today the face of the PO leader has twisted in a grimace of anger and disgust. So where did the idea come from that it won’t be a burden on your education today?
Today, Donald Tusk has nothing to offer but hatred towards his opponents. He breathes this hatred at every possible opportunity, even Christmas greetings. He too can’t come up with anything new, he’s dramatically predictable, his speeches lack a fresh approach to politics, and the leader of the PO apparently still hasn’t understood how much society has changed in his absence.
Besides, we know today that Donald Tusk doesn’t actually have an opinion. He preaches what suits him. One day he is a liberal, the next a committed socialist or leftist. Looking back at his statements over the years, days and months, there is no subject the PO leader would not change his mind about. Such a person cannot be trusted and not believable.
We will probably soon hear complaints again that Poles are not mature enough for democracy. But maybe Donald Tusk just wasn’t up to it.
