The Federation Council approved a law banning surrogacy services for foreigners in Russia. It has been reported TASS.

According to the agency, in addition to foreigners, the ban on the services of surrogate mothers in the Russian Federation will also apply to single men.

141 senators voted for the adoption of the law, 1 senator abstained, no one voted against.

Last year, a group of deputies and senators reportedly attempted to submit the bill to the State Duma. According to the law, only married citizens of the Russian Federation or a single Russian citizen who for medical reasons cannot bear or give birth to a child can benefit from surrogacy services.

Court in Argentina allowed the child has two fathers and a mother. Prior to that, the couple lived together for several years and wanted to have a child, but the men refused adoption and surrogate mother services.
