“I’d rather have fewer delegates than PiS win the next election. I say that to every leader I speak to. I clearly put it on the table. This is not about my views, it is not about having 69 MEPs and not 75 or vice versa. It’s about winning, being able to do our thing,” Poland’s 2050 leader Szymon Hołownia said on RM FM, when asked if it was possible for the entire opposition to get along and be on joint lists to start.

“Decision time is coming”
Hołownia replied to Tomasz Terlikowski’s question whether there will be a joint start of Poland 2050 with PSL and the Polish coalition:
We shall see. It depends on many factors. First of all, from what scenario will be tactically best, for the victory of the democratic camp against PiS. I have been saying this with complete consistency for 1.5 years, the time of the decision is approaching, but it should be taken about 9 months before the election.
When asked why exactly 9 months, Hołownia explained:
Because it is a Czech example, which we have analyzed very intensively. There was also (Andrej) Babisz, who everyone said was impossible to win. It was politically smeared by two wisely created coalitions, two blocs formed 9 months before the election. The whole point is that with this strong pressure from PiS, doing it too early, ie if we made one or two lists a year and a half ago or a year ago, it would come to pieces because of external and internal pressures. People would quarrel in the regions, there are many leaders, there are many interests. When such a project of unification, which is never easy in politics, is launched, it must be launched at a time when it only has the prospect of going up, not stopping, building itself. This must be done at the right time.
We’ve all heard that it’s my exaggerated ego, my activists’ exaggerated ego, that it’s a different problem. We do not care. We are pragmatists and I really believe that everything has its time. We, all parties on this democratic side, have now ordered an investigation. Their results come in, we talk about these results, we meet, we even talk about how to arrange a senate pact
he noticed.
Sometimes the most interesting things in research happen in the questions you need to know how to ask
– added.
The leader of Poland 2050 also admitted that it has the potential not only to mobilize, but also to demobilize.
Someone stays home. And today we have to wonder how many people will stay at home and how many should not stay at home
he stressed.
We have been consistently bringing software solutions for 2 years – they laugh at us, they say that programs are for drawers, that this is where the best players took the stage. And we take it seriously and put the programs in order
he said.
What is the difference between the opposition parties?
In an interview with Terlikowski, Hołownia also admitted that there are things that differ between the opposition parties.
Here we will probably talk about various detailed solutions for a long time. I think we have such potential, I’m talking about the democratic side, things that we can agree on, that we can also honestly sign the discrepancy protocol. In a moment, for example, we will present a draft for a comprehensive reform of professionalization, depoliticization of the civil service, so that the state works well and is economical. I bet our colleagues would agree. We have proposed eight solutions for people with disabilities. I bet my colleagues would agree
– He said.
I think we will sign the convergence protocol and do it before the elections. I believe that before the elections, regardless of how many lists there will be, we should sign a draft coalition agreement. It has to be open, we have to tell the people going into the election clearly what to expect, what issues will be a priority for us, what we will do in the first 100 days, what in the first month, what we have agreed and honestly say what we agree on, we disagree
– added.
Will the future government, which will be made up of the current opposition, bring United Right politicians to justice?
It must be done, but it is certainly not enough. If it stops there, there will be snap elections that will deprive us of the joy of victory in the middle of the next term or even earlier, and PiS will win or what’s left of it. Today, on the way to victory, we must say to the people: listen, this must stop, i.e. these fat cats must be taken out of the trough, this must change, this state cannot be a state of propaganda, lies, wasting time and stealing . But on the other hand, we must immediately start building, making, leading Poland to the solutions that we are all waiting for – in the energy sector, in the economy, in school
– added the leader of Poland 2050.
Denial of confidence in Ziobro
Unfortunately, I am under no illusions about the vote of no confidence in the Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro. Suggestions that some PiS politicians will not defend it is an element of “barbecue”, in the end they will stand behind it anyway – Poland 2050 leader Szymon Hołownia said.
On Wednesday, Hołownia was questioned by RMF FM about the vote of no confidence in Zbigniew Ziobro, the Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, scheduled for the next session of the Sejm, and suggestions that the opposition, which has removed Ziobro from the government, may to win.
I’d like to believe it, because it’s a unique pest, but unfortunately I have no illusions that it will be. It’s like the Tusk-Kaczyński debate: everyone is talking about it and it’s not going to happen anyway
said Holownia. As he said, suggestions from some PiS politicians that they won’t necessarily vote against the no-confidence motion are part of Zbigniew Ziobro’s “whim.”
This is saying: +Listen, if you tickle, it could be different and one of us could get stuck in the toilet, there are several cases+. So they will grill him to the end, and in the end they will stand by him anyway
said Holownia.
As he added, he is not in favor of no-confidence motions against individual members of the government.
It’s a bit theatrical. If you want to get into politics, let’s vote constructively and sack the Prime Minister and replace him with someone else. And here we will always have a flag effect: they will come together to defend this or that officer
– rated the leader of Poland 2050.
In mid-November, the KO and Lewicy clubs and the Polska 2050 circle submitted a new motion to the Sejm for a vote of no confidence in Zbigniew Ziobro, the minister of justice and the head of Solidarna Polska. Borys Budka, the head of the KO club, who justified the opposition’s motion to sack Ziobro, argued: “I check this saying for everyone who says today how much money from European funds is needed.” He argued that at the moment “the only blockade of European funds for Poland is the veto reported by Ziobro”.
The head of the parliamentary justice committee Marek Ast (PiS) said he had called a meeting of the committee for Monday, December 12, which will be devoted to expressing an opinion on the opposition’s motion for a vote of no confidence in the minister of Justice.
