participation Pablo Iglesias and José Manuel García-Margallo There was great anticipation at the Alicante Forum to the point where the IFNROMACIÓN Club had completed its capacity. Participants emphasized the tone displayed by the protagonists of the discussion and the depth of the ideas they encountered. Laughter and applause continued after the brightest interventions. Iglesias and Margallo were spotted on stage, accustomed to playing matches in front of television cameras and radio microphones.
Iglesias’ arrival in a taxi was one of the most tumultuous moments among attendees, some of whom had been waiting for the Podemos founder for several hours. Applause greeted the participants in the discussion after the vehicle door was opened. García-Margallo had arrived a little earlier, which allowed him to greet many of the attendees.
In the crowd were Consuelo Malueda and Antonio Ardid, as well as national MP Macarena Montesinos and district MP José Antonio Rovira, who accompanied Margallo on behalf of the PP.
The representation of Podemos was also very high. It was led by Héctor Illueca, second vice-president of the Generalitat Valenciana and Minister of Housing, and Pilar Lima, deputy of the purple courts. María Teresa Pérez, director of Youth in the government, and Xavier López, spokesperson for the Alicante City Council, were also present.
Rector Amparo Navarro led the assistants representing the University of Alicante. Catalina Iliescu, Francesc Vañó and Francisca Milán from the Alicante academic institution also attended.
The presence of business representatives was equally striking. On behalf of the CEV, its chairman, Salvador Navarro, and its secretary-general, Esther Guilabert, attended. Likewise, it was possible to see Antonio Arias, CEO of Vectalia Group; Luis Consuegra, provincial director of Mercadona Foreign Relations; and Miguel Quintanilla, CEO of Idex Group. On behalf of the Suma Gestión Tributaria of the Provincial Council, its director, José Antonio Belso, attended.
