José Manuel García-Margallo, Member of the European Parliament and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Pablo Iglesias, founder of Podemos and former second vice-president of the Spanish Government, present their two contrasting political visions at the “Differences” meeting. face” is featured on the BİLGİ Forum this Friday afternoon.
Organized by BİLGİ Club, University of Alicante (UA), Valencian Community Business Confederation (CEV), À Punt and Baleària, the new appointment of Alicante Forum allows the heroes to discuss and analyze their different views on politics. Various topics related to current events at a crucial moment marked by the consequences of the war and inflation in Ukraine. They also lay out their vision for next year’s busy electoral cycle, in which national polls will be held after local and municipal elections.
During his political career with the People’s Party, García-Margallo (Madrid, 1944) held, among other positions, the ministry, director general of Community Development, or acting Congressman. He was a member of the European Parliament from 1994 to 2011 and has been since 2019 in the current period.
Pablo Iglesias (Madrid, 1978) was the general secretary of Podemos from 2014 until May of last year. He also served as the Second Vice-President and Minister of Social Rights and the Government’s 2030 Agenda from 2020-2021, collaborating on various television and radio programs.
