Finnish border guards said they have begun investigating about 350 cases of fake border stamps and 88 cases of forgery of residence permit cards in the European Union, with documents in the hands of Russian citizens. Broadcasting Corporation reports YLE.

It was found that the Russians had fake documents on them while crossing the border.

“The Southeast Finnish Border Guard is investigating only 88 fraudulent residence permit cards. “A total of about 350 fake seals have been detected this year,” said Matti Pitkäniitti, representative of the Finnish Border Guard.

Frauds can be related to the EU’s multiple entry visa, with the requirement to stay legal on the visa for up to 90 days in six months.

In addition, the border service noted that often forged documents were supplied by “immigrants from the North Caucasus region of the Russian Federation.”

At the same time, the service added that there may be thousands of people who no longer have legal standing and rights in the European Union.

Formerly at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation warned Number of Russians in the EU about the danger of eavesdropping on the conversations of third parties.
